The thing just works, I love it. I love how simple it is for a former vim user to get a hold of, it truly feels like a more full featured text editor. I'm not one for customization of my editor so this was the perfect solution for me.

    regarding youtube-dl

Yes, as someone who uses Unix-Like OS's on a daily basis, youtube-dl is an integral tool for me. I think its a good solution, and people have written standalone YouTube clients for Linux that I assume take advantage of it. mpv is also able to use youtube-dl to stream content from a variety of sites, the problem for me comes with finding links. I'm pretty sure that qutebrowser had a feature to open YouTube links in mpv but I'm not too sure.

    What do I use?

I use Firefox Nightly with the common browser extensions like ublock origin, privacy badger, https everywhere, and some interesting ones like Dark Reader, Vimium (Which provides vim keybinds in your browser) and ViolentMonkey (which I use for userscripts like 4chanX, OneeChan, and the KissAnime ad blocker).

Has anyone watched the anime Initial D?
It's about a prodigy street racer taking on various other street racers across the mountains of Japan. I can say it's the only anime that has truly changed my life, it's what got me interested into Japanese Cars and Anime as a whole. I cried after the last episode because I knew it was over, and I didn't want it to end. Highly recommended if you're into cars.

There's a rumor that someone on my street has tested positive, but then again it might be perpetuated by the moms on their WhatsApp groups because I can't find a shred of evidence that would tell me this is true. Oh well, looks like I'm not going outside for a while.

In other news, another rumor that online schooling will continue for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. I hate this, as I hate the half-assed implementation our school is using. I need to work on my own motivation to work as well. Maybe I can then start seeing the positives of these changes.

I've been trying to create youtube videos on a new channel (empty for now).

    format

The video format I thought of was getting a few friends on a joint call, and just talking about a certain topic for that day in a socratic circle discussion.

    topics discussed

Since i'm interested in Linux, one of my first topics will be about the argument of linux on the desktop. Would it benefit from more users? Is linux evangelism for good? can we get rid of the elitism stigma?

Is there anything I can do to refine this kind of video format, and actually gain an audience that can see and appreciate the content. My goal here isn't to make money, but to supply the site with good content.

I've mostly been listening to various City Pop mixes on YouTube. For those uninitiated, it's a genre of music. I can describe it like a mix of vaporwave, disco and funk music. Most comes from Japan.

A great place for those who cannot host FOSS services they otherwise might have wanted to use. What comes to mind is Mastodon and TheLounge IRC Client.

    Hope you all enjoy!

This past Black Friday, I purchased the highly acclaimed Phillips SHP9500, and I'm quickly becoming a fan. Open-back headphones are the opposite of in-ears, as you can hear yourself talking clearly, even when there is audio playing. While I don't think the sound quality itself compares to my Audio Technica ATH-M40x's, it's a fair trade-off. I'm looking for possible upgrades to improve my experience, chiefly a microphone for voice chats (many of them due to covid). Please share your thoughts and experiences. I need to make choices soon.
