I also agree about Jet. It was a difficult decision for the Sprike role though some people were suggesting Takeshi Kaneshiro and i agree it was also a spot on choice even if he is already old....

People are complaining about the casting when part of the series is Yoko Kanno music.

Can you think of an actor you would have preferred to play Spike? John Cho's casting is the first news I've heard about this adaptation that has excited me at all!

I don't dislike the Cho pick, it's just a departure from any role I've seen him in before. I don't count that fully as a mark against him though, acting is what actors do. If the casting director thinks he can muster the sense of inner pain and intensity masked by an affected lackadaisical attitude, I trust they're more qualified and knowledgable than me to make that call.

I do think I'd have preferred someone with a more martial artsy background, like Lewis Tan. He's pretty good in "Into the Badlands" but as far as I know he hasn't been in anything this high profile.

I really don't see Henry Golding as a good candidate though. Sorry @Yugioh_Mishima. The guy is just too affable. The energy he projects is that of someone beautiful and shining rather than haunted and mysterious. His costar on Crazy Rich Asians who played the husband of Gemma Chan's character would make a better choice, I think.
