I have a friend who works in IT for a large academic institution in the UK who have a lot of archive-grade onsite data storage. Recently they have been grappling with how best to get ~50TB of digital archive material out of various sites in Ukraine where connectivity is patchy at best and staff are often more concerned with not getting blown up than fiddling about with computers (fwiw, my suggestion of tying microsd cards to pigeons wasn't entirely facetious and tbh the main issue was likely to be finding suitable pigeons).

They have said that in any other circumstance it would be a fun technical challenge but given the situation it's actually somewhat fraught and stressful and upsetting.
