Yeah this statue gets a lot of prank-things. And tbh "racist fish" sounds like one... and it worked! It has a lot of the Danish right, not to mention a lot of other usual suspects up in arms about "how dare they?" and "this is an example why the US BLM is wrong" or something.
Right now some kid high off his or her face who owns a spray can is giggling their arses off.
Sidenote: I'd love to do a art history analysis of the value of statues as, in almost all cases, only truly relevant when they are erected or torn down - the rest of the time they vegetate around as massive blobs of copper.
Anyone got a clue why this statue in particular was targeted? The article doesn't point into too many directions, and the statue itself seems harmless.
That statue seems to get targeted for random pranks a lot. I think it’s one of those things that’s sort of internationally famous enough to get attention, but nobody local actually cares very much about it.
I have seen it personally. I don't understand who cares about that tiny statue or how can be racist.
I wonder if it's connected to the #NotMyAriel bigots?
I don't quite get how the two are connected, besides the people protesting aren't on the right, they're on the left.
Did they ever catch the person responsible for the previous graffiti? Also, what are those yellow spots on the statue?
