Early in my sobriety I really struggled with this. I was 25 and all of a sudden I didn't have the social outlet of hanging out a bar. I made a group of friends in the YPAA scene but I found that they mostly flirted, both with alcohol and with each other. A couple of years into sobriety I realized I could have more fun going to concerts and enjoying live music than I had when I was drinking, mostly because I was able to remember going to the shows and wasn't an asshole to the people I was there with.

I have stopped drinking for no reason, I just got tired of it and yes, it was difficult at the beginning specially when I went out with my friends who couldn't understand it. After a while they got used to it and now I just go to the meetings with my coke zero and maybe drink something if I want to but they accept it and don't push me anymore.
