If you can’t tell by my username, I’m a huge fan of the series, even at almost 33. Reading the series as a kid and then rereading the series as an adult.....it’s amazing how much adult material was actually packed into those books despite being marketed to children. If anyone is interested in reading the series, the entire series can be found online in EPub format. While some would scoff at this apparent piracy, the entire series is almost impossible to find in print anymore and the authors themselves acknowledged and supported the pirates for helping keep the series alive long after it had gone out of print.

I preordered the graphic novel and I think Chris Grines did an excellent job adapting the first book. I greatly look forward to more books being adapted.

There’s even a movie in development but the initial hype has fallen off a cliff as the authors, Michael Grant and KA Applegate, have left the project. Grant wouldn’t go into much detail except to allude to something Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan wrote in reference to his own experience with the Percy Jackson films. The implication is that the movie developers, in usual fashion, aren’t holding to the vision Applegate and Grant set forth in the books.

I’ve long felt a movie would be a terrible medium to adapt the series anyway. It’s 54 books in the main line plus some excellent side novels that provide a lot of context to the overall story.

An animated(preferably anime just because I’m on an anime kick right now) adaptation would’ve been my preferred method but even a live action series on something like Netflix or Hulu could work better than a movie ever would

I remember really enjoying the Animorphs books as a child in elementary school. I probably read my last Animorphs book in third or fourth grade nearly 20 years ago and I can't help but find it...

On a related note, the Invasion was released as a graphic novel and they have plans for more depending on how it catches on. https://www.amazon.com/Invasion-Animorphs-Graphix-K-Applegate/dp/1338226487
