Godot 4.4's first beta was mid-January, and if you look at that article it gives an overview of the impressive list of improvements since Godot 4.3: https://godotengine.org/article/dev-snapshot-godot-4-4-beta-1/
As a reference, Godot 4.3 was released last August. (Tildes topic)

Anyone already using Godot 4.4? How is it? Otherwise feel free to leave general praise for Godot Engine here!
Jolt Physics is also coming as an official feature in 4.4, which is very exciting. This is the same physics engine that was written for Horizon Forbidden West, then ported to Godot via an addon. It'll first be included in Godot as an experimental toggle, and may later become the official engine, replacing the inhouse Godot Physics.
In all the comparisons I've seen, Jolt is much faster, generally more predictable, and produces more realistic interactions. There's a couple features yet missing for one-to-one parity, but it should be a viable option for most games out there.
I should buckle down and do the Godot project I've been meaning to do. This might be a good time to start
What's the project you've been meaning to do?
My son's doing game development at college, and I learned enough Unity to help him with that, but it gave me the idea that I just wanted to do a game. It's only an invaders clone, because of course it is, but I've done some backgrounds, and some graphics, and I've made some effects on my Deluge, and written some "sound tracks" , all I've left to do is learn godot to put it all together.
I wanted to use godot because I always floss in the mornings.
I’ve gone all in on static typed GDScript in my projects, so typed dictionaries are my favorite new feature of the bunch. Really happy to see that hole be filled.
I keep wanting to dive into Godot, but having enough consecutive time with it is difficult, and I don't really have the right project in mind yet. I love how much it's improving each release though.
I found the tutorial on making your first game pretty helpful. You can just do one step at a time to get familiar with the interface without having to go down too many rabbit holes that can eat a lot of time.
