Joe Armstrong was amazingly enthusiastic about programming and software design. For me, his talks are always great since they have a lot of great insights into software development, as well as humorous anecdotes interspersed within ("And now for the tricky bit...").

As it seems to be customary on other sites, here are some videos with him that should be watched:

    • The Mess We're In - A talk on the evolution of computing, the current-day complexity of software development, and possible futures of computing.
    • The Forgotten Ideas in Computer Science
    • How We Program Multicores - A more detailed view and explanation regarding why Erlang makes multicore programming a lot easier than most other popular languages. I think this is the video that got me interested in Erlang/Elixir programming.
    • Erlang: The Movie - A quick demonstration of Erlang and some of its capabilities.
    • Erlang: The Movie II: The Sequel - Not necessarily relevant, since it's a humorous, modernized, "abridged" version of the above, but someone's going to link it anyway due to me mentioning it.
