Have any tips or guidelines for newbies wanting to use uMatrix?

I want to start using uMatrix, but I'm a little nervous since I'm not as tech savvy as others are.

Even if you know of a handy online guide it would be much appreciated.

EDIT: a word

Whenever you encounter a CDN for the first time (unpkg, npmjs, cloudflare, jquery, even ajax.google.com), just switch to * instead of the current domain and allow JS downloads. Unless you mainly want to surf without JS anyway. Because I’d say about 80% of all sites won’t work without one of those.

2 shopify domains, are also good candidates if you tend to online shop.

Refreshing doesn’t reload formerly blocked iframes, you need to actually visit the site in a new tab (at least on FF which will soon be the only browser to support uMatrix anyway). This is especially relevant for the fucking cancer that is recaptcha (aka let me just close your page because it’s not worth the effort).

Cloudflare is usually required to be allowed, and if a site needs a recaptcha you will need to allow google.com then refresh, then find the frame that is being blocked and allow it.

If I run into a problem couldn't I just temporarily disable the uMatrix add-on until I can figure out another method?

Yes, you can also just click the big "power button" in uMatrix (the leftmost button), which temporarily disables uMatrix completely on the site you're on.
