I never appreciated the reverence people have for Smalltalk until I started delving into emacs; a Lisp VM with the added ability to edit text. It's not just that it's extendable it's that it's a live environment along with source and incredible documentation that you can query and manipulate to your heart's content I don't think there's any better help system.
And I still haven't converted from Cask to use-package yet.
