I thought this was a refreshingly honest statement to put at the top of their docs, especially for a project as prominent as Moment. A sentiment like this is rare to see, especially since a lot of people seem to judge the "health" of an open-source project based on how active its development is:

It is not dead, but it is indeed done.

Rather than treating things like a competition, they are instead considering Moment.js as a resource. Just something to help others, not to "win". That allows them to give an honest representation of the pros and cons of their library vs others.

Very refreshing attitude, and I'd love to see that more often. It takes a lot of maturity to say "We no longer recommend using this", especially after all the years of work they've poured into it.

Still 20 million downloads a week and 50k dependents though.

Thanks for the link. It looks a whole lot like the fetch API. Maybe people are using it for streaming.
