      Yeah, it could equally-well have been named, "New website designs that will add nothing and bug the crap out of you for years to come." That animated gradient example is so irritating to look at, especially when it gets to the end of the loop and doesn't connect back up with the beginning.

        The hamburger menu, that was a major shift (not that I love it but it's maybe the best solution for cramped mobile screens?). For aesthetics, those weirdly proportioned illustrations certainly arrived in full force, that's one trend I can see for real. That Dropbox rebranding at least had balls. But this all seems weaksauce.

        Also... did they miss a headline in that article? I count 4. I assume "Maximalism" was one?
