Thank goodness our Conservative rulers are focused on the things that really matter to the starving and impoverished British public: being tough on crime and "wokery", tackling the Trans Question, criminalizing protests, starving the NHS so they can sell off the remains, blaming the EU for the consequences of Brexit and making shit up to distract from their unending incompetence and corruption. And probably at least 5 other things I've forgotten. They're really in touch with the rest of us, and have their finger on the nation's pulse. I don't despise them in the slightest.

If you asked me fifteen years ago, I would have defended big tech and free speech to the absolute hilt.

Nowadays, I wouldn't even mind a regulatory crackdown on big tech, the press, and an (even partial) repeal of consitutional laws like the First Amendment. Free speech has been downright weaponised by the right wing to create the shitshow we have today.

2022 Britain is a textbook example of what happens when you allow right-wing dogma to shape politics. We literally vilified and mocked an anti-war candidate who wanted four day work weeks, a £10/hour minimum wage and nationalised railways and voted in a buffoon whose entire electoral campaign was built on "Get Brexit Done."

And look where it got us...
