But research has shown that donkeys also dig water holes – known as wells or "ass holes" – in many cases providing the only water source in drylands where temperatures can reach almost 50C (122F). In the Sonoran Desert, which spans the US and Northern Mexico, these holes support more than 50 other species, including birds and large native mammals such as mule deer. Mountain lions have even been observed eating donkeys.

Unrelated: How are you doing the footnotes? That seems pretty useful.

You can click "more" and View Markdown. They use a horizontal line, and then just small text to make it look small.

You got the answer (thanks Artren!) but to visualize:

        _______

        *¹ italicized note*

The only "trick" is the superscript one, which I use wincompose on Windows (Linux has the compose key built in) - that's free software for windows. By default right-ALT key is the 'compose' key, but I use CAPS. But whatever, you tap the compose key then a key sequence. ^1 for ¹. Most of them are logical, easy to look up new ones. For example:

        ¿Por qué no los dos?

?? for the question mark, 'e for the accented e.

Also, speaking of footnotes… one thing I do adore about Tildes over Reddit is the support for html like "small" - as on reddit you have to use superscript, meaning that multi-line footnotes have extra spacing. Here, they do not. <3

You can also get it moderately easily without any extra software in Windows with the default Win+Period key to bring up the emoji/symbol selector. Hit the key combo, swap to the symbols tab, and they're right under Math symbols. (Really wish the search bar searched the symbols instead of just the emoji and gifs. Honestly, why are gifs in it in the first place?)

As for the gif search, I'm glad it exists because I use signal on desktop fairly frequently and it doesn't have a gif selector, so I'm about to use the windows one.
