    This story from 2015 is one of my favorite articles of all time from the alt-weekly here in Seattle, The Stranger. The events described here were briefly mentioned in the excellent documentary Blackfish but this goes into much more detail.

    They had aircraft, they had spotters, they had speedboats, they had bombs they were throwing in the water, they were lighting their own bombs with acetylene torches in their boats and throwing them as fast as they could to herd the whales into coves

    Puget Sound. I haven't heard that name in a few years. I spent a lot of time on those waters. I miss Seatle and wish I did more when I was there. Ill check out the article.
