    so far, this appears to have been quite successful! reports seem to indicate worldwide turnout of about a million, which would be quite a lot given the relatively short time between when the idea first took off and today. hopefully this will lead to increased momentum both for future actions under this banner and for other climate activist movements that have actions planned this year.

      now that there's been a day to sort everything out, estimates of turnout seem to have settled at around 1.4 million or so. not the largest protest in the world by any means, but considering the movement started six months ago, that's an extremely impressive number.
