    Weird how I completely forgot about that storm until now. You hear nothing anymore about the recovery from it. Whereas Maria is still being brought up.

      you can probably thank where it landed for that. the florida panhandle is, relatively speaking, fairly sparsely populated. outside of like, tallahassee, there's not much to see there and most of the damage was thus confined to smaller cities like panama city which don't really bring in media coverage in the same way even a storm half as weak would if it were impacting tampa or miami or orlando. by comparison, maria basically leveled the entire island of puerto rico--and even then, i think the only reason it's even brought up most of the time is because of the abysmal US government response to the storm.
