The past two summers were definitely horrendous. At one point last summer we were surrounded by massive fires from Canada, Seattle, Oregon and the Paradise fire in California. The smoke didn't clear for weeks. Streets were covered with layers of soot every day. Couldn't go outside for a walk, let alone running or hiking. The Eagle Creek fire the summer prior was even more devastating, burning on for months putting Portland on the board for worst air pollution in the world for weeks, and destroying one of the PNW's natural gems - the Columbia river gorge.
