While COVID-19 has brought much suffering to this world, the changes that governments and people around the world have enacted could lead to a better life in more stable times. Spain's minister of economics hopes that their planned "stimulus checks" could transition into something like a universal income in the future.

I think there's a meaningful discussion to be had about the amount of things people buy today, and how that maybe just isn't necessary anymore. While it is true that a lot of blame can be put on companies promoting such rampant consumerism, wherever it be fashion or tech, it's also true that people keep buying stuff.

This isn't a singular problem, in fact it's a problem that's intertwined with lot of different problems. While a decent chunk of people have begun paying attention to what they buy, where it comes from and how it affects the planet and the people that make it, it's still a problem that only people with enough disposable income can even worry about such things.

Maybe we'll learn something from this crisis, but somehow I doubt it.
