    Meanwhile, down here in Southern California, it may just hit 90, which is perfectly normal for early August. We broke 100 with one heat wave, but it's been a very mild summer. It even rained the other day.

    I also don't think California will have as bad a fire season because that typically requires rain to grow plants, followed by a rough summer, but typically more green areas will definitely be worse off.
