I think this is going to be a real problem in food deserts and rural areas in general. If there becomes a shortage of truck drivers for an area that is 2-3 hours away from the closest interstate, how will they get food? What happens when it impacts one of the two grocery stores in the county?

We’ve seen a huge amount of people who live on the east side of the town where I live asking for help because there are no grocery stores on that side of town and they don’t have transportation to get across town to go shopping. The closest thing they have is a Dollar Tree and it’s constantly out of stock on a lot of essentials and non perishables since it’s the one store they have access to.

If this goes on for too much longer, getting food to those Types of people is going to become a huge issue that local governments will have to deal with.

In the couple of stores I've been to it's mostly the same, dairy/meat/bread/paper/cleaning supplies are almost always out, canned/soup stuff has been pretty much decimated, and produce is doing fine.

My wife got back from shopping and apparently there is chicken now. It was hard to find last week.
