Found this talk by a concervative in the UK to surprisingly mesh fairly well with my own more anecdotal observations on how the older generation have and are benefitting more from social policies than their offspring. I've mainly thought about how pensions are structured here in Sweden and also how the introduction of various benefits (study allowances, child care, exploitation of natural resources etc) have been introduced in time with how, among others, my parents have needed/wanted them. Interesting to see a more robust treatment of the subject. Obviously I too have benefitted from a lot of these policies, but I wonder if it is really sustainable...
