      I've edited the title, to show the hourly increase.

      I initially misread this as $13/hour raise and was shocked.

          It's usually thought of as hourly but it's not defined that way. The minimum wage in Australia is not defined as $19.84 per hour, it's defined as $753.80 per working week (and a working week is defined as 38 hours). That's why newspapers report the weekly increase, rather than the hourly increase.
