      "Under the advice of an accountant" can mean all sorts of things. I'm not an accountant, and I wasn't signing anyone's tax returns, but I've had clients who were doing shady things. I told them that what they were doing was illegal, and if they were audited they'd be in deep shit, but admitted that the chances of it coming to light without an audit was minimal. They generally kept doing what they wanted, even after they were warned.
