“Just happened to see a Hamilton 87 in the liquor store”
Ok unicorn man 😂
I was pleasantly surprised. He knew his stuff, though personally I usually go with a Flor de Cana 4 for the rum if I have it. I don’t right now but my Plantation 3 star may be calling me tonight if I can scrounge any mint.
Didn't yet watch, but I presume it's similiar to the classic Mint Julep.
I have all but mint and sage in the garden, so I guess I know ehat I'll be doing tonight.
Sort of -- classic 2:1 simple + muddling in place of the mint syrup at least in the 'classic'. He also had a raw demerara + mint muddled version. Also, I usually haven't made mint syrup as linked, but instead blanched the mint (dunk it in boiling water for ~15 seconds, then immediately bring to an ice water bath) and then blend or food process the leaves into a pre-existing simple (e.g.,).
Ooh, let us know how they turn out, and which you liked best. I’m a huge fan of regular mint mojitos… but I also love basil, and always have some on hand, so I plan on trying the basil mojito variation for myself this weekend.
