      I have heard the word rutabaga like 3 times before and if I hadn’t watched this video and you asked me what one was I would have not been able to tell you it was a food.

      Haven’t seen the video, but we call them “rutabagas” here so the term might have thrown them off. They’re not that rare, but they’re not exactly common either. You’ll mostly just see them in...

      They’re not that rare, but they’re not exactly common either. You’ll mostly just see them in farmers markets, not really on supermarket shelves.

Over in the UK they are very common, most stew or casserole type dishes will contain a swede and i assumed it was the same on the other side of the pond. Watching a professional chef treat it like he did was pretty funny/bizarre, i thought he was hamming it up for the camera at first.
