To be honest, when I read the title of this video and started to watch it, I really hoped this would be a talk about dealing with terrain physics in off road driving, such as deformation, like creating ruts or getting stuck in mud, snow, and sand, and how those different surfaces can be simulated (I have not played Uncharted), but this was still an interesting talk, especially the bits about terrain friction. I haven't been able to find it, but there was an excellent talk given by a developer years ago, the video of which I stumbled upon, where they discussed using voxels to simulate terrain physics for an off road driving game. I've been trying to find it for the past few days, but haven't had much luck, though it is how I found this talk. So yeah, if a talk on using voxels to simulate ultra-realistic terrain physics, deformation, and vehicle interaction sounds familiar to you, send me some links.
