Film grain is an aesthetic just as the crackle of a vinyl record is an aesthetic, and some people enjoy that sort of thing. I personal like the warm and analog feeling that film grain provides, and at least when I’ve seen films on the big screen I’ve never found it distracting. In any case I’m pretty sure this cinematic mode can be toggled so if it does affect gameplay it can be avoided.
