I really hope this game won't lean too heavily on the characters in the first trilogy. Switching out Geralt as the protagonist leaves huge shoes to fill. They have to be filled well. Personally, I didn't enjoy CD project's storytelling in Cyberpunk 2077 at all, so I'm apprehensive now.

As usual, as the silly optimist I am, I truly believe CD Projekt will learn from their mistakes with Cyberpunk and create a wonderful current-gen experience. I also think using an external engine can be beneficial since more resources will be devoted to the game itself (I'm not a programmer, please correct me if I'm wrong).

Also as usual, my priorities are radically distinct from other players, since I do not wish for a bigger world, I do not wish for deeper and more complex mechanics, and I do not wish for an increase in difficulty. I favor a more compact, highly populated, lore rich world, and I don't like games that feel like a second job (with the exception of POE because that shit is worse than crack cocaine).

The laws of videogame sequels tell me that I'll be inevitable frustrated, but it's going to be a great game nevertheless.

I'm probably one of the only RPG gamer that wants less systems, less complexity, and, most importantly, a lot less crafting.

I also wish for a narrative clean slate. For a more immersive experience, I'd love to reenter this universe without resorting to recaps and occasional visits to wiki pages.

Hope that isn't a sign of a focus on microtransactions.

Gwent director Jason Slama is heading up the new Witcher game

Hope that isn't a sign of a focus on microtransactions.
