Many congrats to Tarn and Zach for the breakout success; they deserve it. Though it's accumulated a handful of pale imitators, there really is nothing else like Dwarf Fortress.
Basically the only thing stopping me from buying this game is for someone here to say that they hadn't played Dwarf Fortress before and they found the interface easy to understand. And if I don't...
Basically the only thing stopping me from buying this game is for someone here to say that they hadn't played Dwarf Fortress before and they found the interface easy to understand.
And if I don't see that I'm just going to give up and buy Rimworld instead. :P
I'll say as somebody who played for two hours two years ago: it's muuuch easier. A major reason I stopped is I didn't want to have to maintain the Lazy Newb Pack I was using to keep it playable...

To be completely honest, I don't even understand how to do anything in Terraria. Perhaps I shouldn't buy either.
