An upcoming Steam Sale also means we’re due for another Tildes Game Giveaway and Hidden Gem Topic. Everybody get your keys and recommendations ready!
oh gosh panicking!!! I'm gonna be away on vacation next week so I'll be delayed on my giveaway this time around! But I definitely have some spares to give away at this point I think.
No need to panic! If you miss this giveaway, we’ll have another one during the Winter Sale.
Enjoy your vacation!
Sweet, was just wondering when this was coming.

Steam Deck 64 GB and 512 LCD models are 15% off, putting them at $296.65 and $381.65 respectively until July 11th, while supplies last.
A warning: if you get the 64GB model, I STRONGLY advise you upgrade the storage with a single-sided PCIe 3 or 4 2230 NVMe drive.
The storage technology they used for that trim is eMMC, which is terribly slow. It is possible to use the internal storage as a boot drive and MicroSD cards for game files, however, the internal drive will quickly get full up with compatdata and shaders. The latter data are common to 3D games on any platform, and the former is specific to running Windows games through Proton. These data have to live on the boot drive, and are not very efficiently cleaned up after uninstalling their associated games. This leads to God-awful performance, depending on your usage.
The process for upgrading the storage is very friendly to novices, and step-by-steps can be found at iFixit, alongside good professional-grade toolkits should you need one.
I'm more than happy to share my personal and professional experience with anyone thinking about upgrading or repairing their Deck. Just shoot me a message or reply here, and I'll do my best to help.

Reminder that Tell Me Why is free on Steam until end of the month. From the studio that made Life Is Strange.

Apparently getting delisted in December. Ultimate edition has all the DLC! All time low according to ITAD, so probably won't get lower in the upcoming Steam Sale
Additional info: delisted games on Steam remain installable and playable if they’re in your account prior to delisting.
The exceptions to this are games that are outright banned from the store (usually scam games) and games that are dependent on outside servers (you can technically still install and run the executable, but the game itself is no longer available).
No idea if this one is server-dependent but it’s likely you’ll still be able to play it offline if you own it.
Also, it might be worth getting it sooner rather than later — this site which tracks changes to the Steam database is showing it as “purchase disabled.”
Sunless Skies free on EGS this week:

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is on sale for $12 (all time low: $9) and the full DLC bundle is $24 (all time low: $22).
The game is a mech sim, putting you in charge of running a mercenary crew operating mechs. Highly customizable mechs that feel like operating a machine rather than a person with mech skin. You also command squad of teammates you hire with varied backgrounds, specific skills, operate the same mechs you build and operate, and can also be injured/die. Time progresses during missions and travel, political events unfold over time to have a significant impact on the game world. It takes place in the BattleTech universe, so if you like that lore, you'll find it in here. But that's not really the focus, the campaign doesn't get in your way of what it really wants to deliver -- a mech sim.
The DLC adds missions, mechs, weapons, components, game modes, biomes, and mission types. You'll start finding DLC stuff quickly, it isn't post game or isolated to some other region. But it is also largely "more of the same," so if you aren't sure about/don't like the base game, it won't change that.
It is a lot of fun with my HOTAS setup in a way most other mech games are not due to the aforementioned handling. The game actually has support for a lot of HOTAS configs right out of the box. I'm really looking forward to this one with an AR/VR setup.
SGDQ games are up on Humble! $20 for the highest tier:

Fanatical has a GoG Bundle for Bethesda games:

Of note, Dishonored 1 and 2 for DRM free is pretty cool! Wolfenstein games are neat too!
Fanatical NSPCC Charity Bundle
Proceeds go to benefit the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children in the UK.
Game list:
Descenders is good fun: a procedurally generated downhill biking roguelite. Has a really good sense of speed.
Shatter is an excellent Breakout-style game with a fantastic soundtrack.
Breakneck is a lot like Race the Sun. The game isn't great, but I put several mindless hours into it while listening to audiobooks.
The Last Campfire is a cozy little puzzle game made by the No Man's Sky devs.
I usually don't post about Amazon Prime deals since I always forget to check, but if you log on and link an Epic account, you can get Card Shark, and you can get Star Wars Battlefront 2 Classic Edition and Forager on GoG:

I really liked Card Shark, it was a cute narrative ish game that actually taught you some basic card mechanics (read: magic) that you can try in real life!
