As much as I love Rocket League, Psyonix need to do something about their servers. I own it both on Steam and Nintendo Switch, and the latter is a nightmare to play online.

Do you happen to have an Ethernet adapter for the Switch? It was a night-and-day improvement for Splatoon 2. So maybe not necessarily a server problem?

While convenient, Wi-Fi is terrible for gaming or in general. You can't blame the servers if you're playing on Wi-Fi, there are too many possible problems to be sure it's the server's fault.
