Not sure I'll use the multiplayer for stardew valley, but I'm not their target market because I don't really like any kind of online multiplayer game, and stardew is so zen, I can't imagine adding in someone else. Do they also want to just spend half of every day making and shipping ancient fruit wines in my massive greenhouse facility until for some reason I have $50 million?

I really wanted to get into Stardew Valley, but I ended up getting stressed out when I played. I always felt like I would run out of time in the day, or didn't have enough stamina to do things, and got frustrated. I never got to that zen-like state everyone I talk to seems to find in the game. I'm wondering if anyone else was in a similar boat when they played, or if I just don't 'get it.'

I made the mistake of starting out as it if was some kind of Factorio, where everything needed to be min-maxed and optimized for timing and profit. The game became a lot more fun when I just let go and decided that doing nothing but wandering around talking to people all day, or spending a few entire days just clearing trees was a perfectly fine way to spend my time.

I never actually got farther than the first few years, but really grew to enjoy it while listening to podcasts or gabbing with friends on discord or whatever.

To me it's not really a game about winning or even doing well, it's just about doing; and it's okay if "doing" is just clearing a field, catching some fish, and then taking a nap.

Thanks for this insight. If I ever pick it back up, I will try to worry less about playing the 'best' way, and see if that helps.

Same thing happened to me. First time I played, I tried to do as much as I could with my time and optimize everything. Didn't last more than a few hours. Came back to it later with the goal of doing things at my own pace and just relaxing. I put something like 140 hours into this game by the end. I collected almost everything you can collect and did pretty much everything the game has to offer outside of relationships. It's definitely worth a second try.

Not the absolute lowest price it's ever been, but pretty close (and the 2-pack or 4-pack are even closer).
