Plug away trying to salvage some semblance of a reputation.
Sure you told barefaced lies even as streamers were demonstrating em to the world but hey at least you came good several years after taking 60$ pre-orders from a load of gullible kids.

I think he honestly wanted to make the game he was selling, he just couldn't make it and was selling what the game would be if he had enough time and resources. The problem is he lied about what the game currently was in order to get more resources to develop the game he wanted it to be and that's a shitty thing to do.

If/when someone else would read it more throughfully I'd like to understand if the blatant lies said pre-release has never been addressed. Because for me, it was that behaviour that made me really ditch the interest for the game entirely (just to remind everyone: the game support multiplayer but it's so vast that is impossible to find each others).

There's an interview from May where they sit down and talk about the game coming to Xbox One, towards the end of the interview they ask about the future of No Man's Sky. Sean is very hesitant about mentioning future updates, even a roadmap because he knows they missed the mark and let the hype train get away from them last time.
Unless he's some sort of masochist and likes having bomb / death threats sent to his place of work and harassment on social media.
It takes a lot of courage to even be the one that talks about NMS: NEXT during these interviews before the update is released, I respect him for that and I will be buying the game and giving it another shot.
I don't think he was ever lying about what he wanted to deliver, just vastly overestimating what he could deliver and selling a lie in order to keep his dream afloat.

I have to agree with Deimos here. Reactions don't contribute much to a discussion. If you could provide more context as to why you feel the way you do it would be greatly appreciated and give...

Meh. It is my opinion that this guy already lied a lot to our faces so why should anyone trust anything he says? He was a shyster and I will not support a scamming developer.

And ArsTechnica has a bit of a summary of some of the major stuff covered in them, if you'd like a short version.

I want to believe he can deliver on his original vision. The distressing thing is that, no matter what he’s saying now, he may just be lying again.

Too little, too late.
