A few of my friends and I played this game for about 30 hours together (which was a complete run + about 10 hours of new game plus). Like the original, it's really fun and incredibly funny. The many, many different weapons available are all really unique. The weapon mods are super interesting and add a ton more variety. The movement is incredibly fast and fluid. Not much I can really complain about, TBH. I would highly recommend it if you enjoy "oldschool" style shooters... and you can't really beat the price, that's for sure. ;)
p.s. Make sure you level up ammo drop rate and capacity skills ASAP, especially if you're playing on the harder difficulty settings. Enemies can be pretty bullet-spongy.

Windows-only, but WineHQ says it works great with WINE+DXVK. I'll probably still pass on it personally.
You should pick it up anyways because you could always change your mind. Also it's free so you have nothing to lose.

If you havven't played it, you should. It's stupid fun and a decent game all around.
