I've been playing destiny 2 since launch and can confirm what others are saying - the story is shit. In fact, most of the gameplay is shit, but it's got halfway decent pvp and its been scratching...

It is SO dumb. Like, the gunplay feels okay, but the story and setting are idiot nonsense about big ugly aliens Stealing the Light and we gotta Guard it, etc. I know that the good stuff is...

I might give it a shot. I am looking forward to Anthem, which is basically BioWare's version of Destiny, from what little I know. Might be good to get a baseline experience on the genre.

So no, in your case I wouldn't bother with it.

Destiny is extremely cliche, low effort sci-fi. I've heard its story described as "junk food", and I think that sums it up pretty accurately.
Spoiler alert: it's not. The story is pretty much garbage.

Have you tried Warframe? It's quite similar to destiny but it's third person and you're a ninja in space.
+1 for warframe. I think it's a much better game than destiny, though destiny is prettier.
I hadn't even heard of it. 3rd person is definitely preferable to first for me. I will definitely take a look.
Funny. I actually prefer first person, but Warframe's combat is fun enough that I don't care.
