I've seen EA flip-flop on microtransactions too many times to give them any trust. The Battlefront 2 debacle is more than enough to question it. If it's released and there's some cosmetic stuff for sale (not in lootboxes) and that's it, I can live with that. But I'm not going to trust any EA press event or preview build.

I want Anthem to be good, it looks like a game I'll be into, and I've liked recent Bioware stuff (even Andromeda), but I need to see the state of the released product.

I played the test demo a few weeks ago and it felt pretty polished. There were some PC port issues such as x and y sensitivity differing and the sensitivity being just way too high on a mouse, but the development of this game has impressed me.

For one thing, they've been inviting major youtube gamer personalities to test their game pretty extensively. I'm not sure exactly how these contracts work, but from what I heard from some of the videos I watched and on the grape vine, they aren't paid to advertise the game, they are being paid to test the game - so the responses from them are valid.

There's no PVP in the game so I'm not super excited for it, but it sounds like it is shaping up to be a really strong PVE game and should be a big hit.

Once they fix the PC port sensitivity issues, I'm sure the movement will be great. Right now, however, it's a real pain. It's got automatic lobbies. I'm not sure if you can play with NPCs or...

I watched a few of the videos and I really like how the movement / flying / jump pack seems to work. It is much tighter and cleaner than Destiny.

Once they fix the PC port sensitivity issues, I'm sure the movement will be great. Right now, however, it's a real pain.

My only concern is that I usually only play these games solo, and I feel like these games are usually all made to focus on group play unfortunately.

It's got automatic lobbies. I'm not sure if you can play with NPCs or launch solo to make missions harder, but from my experience games like this populate lobbies very quickly.

Apparently you can play the whole game solo, it's just difficult and you won't get the top-tier loot.

I caught a few red flags from Brad. He didn't get to see the marketplace because microtransactions are still in flux. He ran into a few quest progress bugs that required a console to fix. Still looks cool, but definitely a wait and see.

Basically what we see here is EA making a demo version so dumbed down and rebalanced that game journalists would be able to play it without calling it Dark Souls, and then the economy part makes me think that there would be a lot of grind and micro-transactions in the end product. So I beg everyone here NOT TO preorder it ( or any game ever really ), and wait for the actual game to come out to see if it's good or not.

I am a very passionate and avid gamer and has been for my whole life. The negative ways the industry have headed in can partly, and heavily be blamed on EA and their current ceo whatever his name is.
