Oh boy, this is incredibly exciting news. I played through the campaigns of Halo 1 and Halo ODST with friends, but have never actually gone through the full series as I've never owned an Xbox, but my homework soundtrack through high school was all the halo soundtracks.
Provided people don't have tons of issues with the PC performance, I'm extremely excited for this, only for singleplayer.

Still, I know I like the halo universe—I've watched enough of the games (but not yet 4 and 5), and have read a handful of the novels, so it'll be cakewalk to find the time to actually play all the campaigns as they're released on MCC PC.

Halo: Combat Evolved campaign is kind of a slog these days
Yeah, it takes awhile to get through (especially the Library. That shit takes hours!)... but you know what? 2-3 (never played 4's campaign) have nothing on the CE campaign. The levels are bigger, combat is scarier, the vehicles are ridiculous (and I mean that in the best possible way) and IMO it's much, much more fun. I mean, I love all three for their own reasons: Halo 2 was the first (and in some respects, still the best) multiplayer matchmaking experience out there. Halo 3 had some of my favorite large scale maps, and saw the birth of a lot of new game modes, etc.
Probably as result of me pouring waaaaaaay too many hours into CE as a kid, I can still run through that solo on Legendary if I've got a day I don't want back too badly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The reason they cited behind this is so they don't rush the games and do a bad job. Games will also be available to buy on Steam and the Microsoft store, which is a really nice thing to do.

do you mean it's interesting that tildes posts are sorted by last bump or that it's interesting it still works on old posts? I personally kind of like how you can bump old posts but I don't think...

Yeah, I absolutely love the bump mechanics in the Activity sorts. It makes this place feel a bit more like an oldschool forum, keeps discussions alive for longer, allows people to make others aware of relevant updates (like you just did), and even encourages people to look for older topics/discussions (which they can then potentially reignite interest in by making a new comment in them).
p.s. As for when Tildes gets bigger, I still think it can work but it will likely need some further tweaking so even fewer comments actually cause the bump. Or perhaps the bumps can be more restricted on the front page, but less so when visiting the group pages. There are plenty of options, IMO... but we will cross that bridge when we get there. :P
I think it's a pretty safe assumption that it will include all features present in the Xbox version. The only iffy one might be split-screen, which I hope they include.

Only just found this out myself, but on the Halo waypoint website you can also sign up to be an insider which means you can help test the game if anyone is interested:...

It will be releasing one game at a time, starting with Reach and then by chronological order. Pricing and release dates not revealed yet.

They also just announced to bring Direct X 12 to Windows 7. What a weird twist!
released! pretty good launch as well, only a few minor issues.
off-topic: interesting how your comment brought this post back to my homepage despite being posted in March.

No word on if they'll have co-op (unless I missed it). I really hope they do.

Oof Microsoft really wants people to buy into Game Pass subscription, and it's really tempting to give in, some serious value there.
