I read that Death Stranding uses the same or similar tech as Horizon Zero Dawn so there should be a lot of the same mechanics. I loved HZD and can't wait for DS.

My main concern was not a lack of action, but excessive complexity. After playing Metal Gear exclusively on the Playstation 1 and 2, the jump to Metal Gear Solid 5 felt more like a very intricate job than a game. I suppose it makes more sense if you followed the additions and innovations on each game, but that's not my case. I simply gave up.

For me it's Red Dead Redemption 2, Spider Man, Detroit: Become Human and Horizon: Zero Dawn tempting me... though God of War looked alright and Death Stranding is up there near the top now too. I knew Kojima's latest was going to be wild based on the last trailers released, but this one put it over the top for me. I am very, very tempted to pick up a PS4 now even though after I play those games it will basically be transformed into an expensive paperweight and dust collector, like all my previous consoles. :/
Between the two of you, that's a pretty comprehensive list of the games making me want a PS4, too. I mean, I still find the concept of exclusives super annoying, but dang those are all some great...

Plus, the fact that I could download some classic games for a massive dose of nostalgia.
It's really between the PS4 and the Switch for me, but it's still a bit hard to justify the cost of a console.

Once I played through the two big single player games Mario Odyssey and Zelda Breath of the Wild, I never had an interest to revisit them. Other than that, Mario Kart and Smash are a ton of fun, but unless you have friends over often to play, it's not too fun solo / online for me personally.
I am excited for the new Pokemon and Fire Emblem games coming down the pike, but not too much else is piquing my interest for the Switch.
That's a good point. I guess the thing is, I would have people over to play it, but when we get together, we usually play board games or RPGs, which kind of puts a damper on the local multiplayer....

And yeah, in context, while there are a few games I'm super excited about for the Switch, there's probably more I'm just as excited about for the PS4. Honestly, especially with rumors of the PS5, I might snag a PS4 when the price inevitably drops.

Yeah, I watched a Let's Play of the first 30ish min of God of War and it looked pretty dang good. The reviews have been stellar too, so I would likely pick it up if/when I cave in and get a PS4......

I just have never played a God of War game before, so I have no idea if I would even understand what's really going on.
p.s. Days Gone looks pretty neat too based on a Let's Plays I have watched of it as well. Post-apoc, zombies and motorcycles. Oh my! ;)

Luckily, you really don't need to have much knowledge of the past games. The gist is that that Kratos used to be extremely angry and self-serving, now he has a son who he has to look out for and he is dealing with his new realities of fatherhood. He was a former god in the Greek mythology and killed all the other gods using these chained blades that were attached around his wrists.
The big difference in this GoW versus the past entries, is that there really was not much more to Kratos before than being an edgy murder machine. This is the first game that tries to actually provide a depth of character and story beyond "kill all the gods / things."

Judging by the fact that PS5 is on the horizon and they've relesed a cheap PSP when that came out of the window, as well as cheap PS3 when PS4 got out the chances are good for that, but not for a Pro version I think. Something tells me there is a chance that game is going to come with news on PS5, but that's just a hunch.

Update: Yeah, I can't really find a credible source that it's coming to PC. Honestly seems like it won't be.
Well it sounds like he wants to, but I doubt the exclusivity deal is short, considering the massive amount of cash Sony poured into this, and since used PS4 are cheap, I'll just gonna get it. It's...

It's a game that can really benefit from being played ASAP since it looks like it's gonna be a lot better without spoilers.
From what I know, they're using the Decima engine which has never been used outside of the PS4 from my knowledge, it's quite unlikely. They weren't using that engine back then.

This game is one of the main reasons I bought a PS4

(There are DS easter eggs in HZD: https://www.vg247.com/2017/11/07/horizon-zero-dawn-secrets-death-stranding-easter-egg/)

So this is finally the time to get a PS4 huh
Personally I think Persona 5, God of War, and Bloodborne already make it more than worth it.

I really enjoyed Octopath Traveller, but it looks like that title got a PC port later on.

Ah, okay that's good to know that my not having played the previous ones doesn't really matter. Now I will definitely be picking it up. Thanks!
I'm hoping they release a PS4 Pro Slim or something along those lines. But I don't think they will for some reason.

Apparently it's coming to PC later on, if you're okay with waiting (that's what I'm doing). No mention on the wiki article, are you sure about that? Considering Sony pretty much financed the whole thing I doubt it will be ported any time soon
