I think it means that Ori and the Will of the Wisps will likely be on Steam?
It might be playable in Proton, who knows?
I'm not sure how allowing Steam to have virtually a monopoly on PC games gives gamers choice.
Well, it's better to choose between Steam and the Windows store than being forced to use the Windows store, isn't it?
I'm not so sure tbh. Exclusives may not be the answer but essentially giving up and moving to Steam isn't good for consumers either.
The games will also be available on the Windows store. I don't see how distributing the game on a different marketplace could ever be bad for consumers.
I may be too hard on Steam but I truly believe when Microsoft moving from Windows store to just Steam, makes the game essentially a Steam exclusive. As the other said, it would be better if Microsoft brought the games to other platforms like GOG.
I personally think you might be being a little hard on Steam, but I still agree. I think their actions would line up better with their words if they distributed their games via GOG, epic, and any other publisher-agnostic stores.
I think Steam is a good first step for Microsoft but yes, it'd be better if they went ahead and on other stores (except EGS) like Itch.io and GOG.
The lead is being buried with Game Pass coming to PC, but I guess more Xbox games on more stores is always nice.
I'm pretty confused about that whole thing, because Game Pass has already been available on PC for a very long time. Tons of people were using it to play Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 4.
According to the Xblog,
So they are either porting all of these games from Xbox to Windows, or porting Xbox tools that can run these games to Windows...
It doesn't say that they're xbox-exclusive games, it could just be games that are already available for PC. A lot of the Xbox Game Studios games are already on PC, like the ones I mentioned: Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 4.
