This sounds wonderful. Between this, Sky, and Animal Crossing, I really hope we see a wave of multiplayer games that focus on cooperation, or just rewarding being nice to one another.

It's an iOS-only game for now, but should release on other platforms eventually: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/07/journey-creators-sky-debuts-on-iphone-and-ipad/

Ah, thank you, I've heard seen that one but I forgot the name. Looks beatiful, once it's out somewhere else I'm probably buying it.

This is honestly so amazing. I love that the whole point is essentially just to be kind to other people, and I feel like this type of thing could be a real help to people out there who are feeling deeply alone in the world.

So with Kind Words, I wanted it to be a thing that someone had to pay money for so they were committed in some way. They have to sit down and take a moment and open an app that takes up the whole screen on the computer so they're not elsewhere, they're here in this game, they're thinking about it, they take an action and then they leave it. It becomes a separate place you go to for this activity and feeling. That's why it looks like a game. Maybe it is a game.

I also think that this is a fascinating way to avoid trolls and their ilk. By making it a game, people expect that they'll need to pay money for it, so, unlike many websites, there's no instinct that "this should be free". As a result, they automatically get people who have some commitment and buy-in to the community.
