Can we not emulate something that sucks about console gaming on PC please? I dont care if the game is on epic or not, but it should be on steam and gog too.

I know that this is just going to get us dragged into a hellhole of rhetoric, but I don't think the Epic Launcher is anything on the scale to the Console Wars, in that you can you can get Epic Keys in the Humble Store, don't have to have the launcher installed to run the game, Steam is capable of running any program installed outside of it's catalog, and you can get Epic Games on your Steam Dedicated Hardware with no additional buy in. Even if letting the Launcher touch your precious install is worthy of mouth-foaming RAGE!!!, you can always wait a year if anything interests you, and in all likelihood, it would probably stay on your Wishlist or your backlog for a year either way. PS4 and Nintendo exclusives will not give you that guaranteed window.

Buying things on the EGS is a pain in the ass due to no shopping cart (this one still make me laugh). The EGS also isn't GDPR compliant, and I care about my data. This isn't just about the video...

This isn't just about the video gamez, EGS is a legitimate shit show and I'm not supporting an obviously inferior product just because Sweeney is stuffing indie devs full of dat Fortnite cash. I buy games on GOG. I buy games on the Humble Store. I support Steam because they're privately owned by a guy who cares about video games and making a product instead of pleasing shareholders, of which almost 48,something% is owned by Tencent.

That being said, you're right with your last argument. I can wait a year. In fact, for most games these days, waiting a year is fucking great. You get a cheaper, better version of the same product, and you can pass the time waiting playing the games from last year. Playing the newest video games on a delay is a great thing.
