Some people are probably going to be annoyed by this but I welcome it with open arms. IMO Steam's library isn't very good and has gone on too long without any significant changes.

Nice to see some updates to the client, though I really don't use it a ton anymore. Switched over to PlayNite to manage all my games in one place, and only visit the store in browser so I can use Augmented Steam. Do have to say that the updates and what's new sections are really nice. For most of my games I never know when and why they update until I see some reddit post about it.

Genre sorting is everything I have wanted forever; it's annoying to have to manually sort my games and randomly lose everything because Steam messed something up. Also you can't sync categories...

So even if it becomes slower (it will) and I don't like the design so much, it's an improvement for sure.

I use this site fairly often to do things like search my library by genre/features, but it will definitely be nice to have it built-in if it works well: https://www.lorenzostanco.com/lab/steam/

I think you might have an issue with your steam installations. I have had a few issues in the past, but my categories syng just fine between my desktop and laptop.
