Google Stadia's controller will only work wirelessly with a Chromecast Ultra at launch, and must be connected to PCs and phones with a cable

    This is kind of bizarre—I guess the controller itself has wifi so it can send input directly to Stadia servers, removing some extra potential latency of relaying the input through the device...

    This is kind of bizarre—I guess the controller itself has wifi so it can send input directly to Stadia servers, removing some extra potential latency of relaying the input through the device you're playing on. I can't really figure out why they're not able to do that unless you're playing on a Chromecast though.
