I'm optimistic about this. For the most part the specs aren't as good as the Xbox Series X but as a current PS4 owner I'm excited to replace my old console and bring my whole game library with it. I'm still carting around a Dreamcast, Wii, and PS3 because I'm not ready to part with old games, but I don't have cabinet space to keep growing my hardware collection. PS5 should solve that problem nicely, even if no good titles ever get released on it. (But you know there will be, Sony has great exclusives). I just picked up my first 4K TV and I'm eager to play something at full resolution on it.

Now we just need to survive this coronapocalypse so it can actually be released.

If I'm seeing this correctly, so far XBox seems like it'll be a little more powerful than PS5-- however, if I'm being honest with myself, I don't really care about specs; in the end it always...

If I'm seeing this correctly, so far XBox seems like it'll be a little more powerful than PS5-- however, if I'm being honest with myself, I don't really care about specs; in the end it always boils down to exclusives. Wherever Naughty Dog has gone, I've followed.

I see the appeal of games like Halo & Gear of War, but I've never felt drawn enough to them to go out and buy an XBox. And the other exclusives that did interest me (I can't think of any off the top of my head other than Inside) turned out to be timed exclusives/eventually came to Windows (I've got a PC) and other platforms.

I think between the golden age of television, my giant backlog of games, a full-time job, and how many hours it takes me to beat most of today's epic games, my standards have invariably raised higher than where they were before, and I've got enough patience to wait out any more timed exclusives.

...except Index, I guess... I certainly bought the shit out of one the moment I was able after seeing that Alyx trailer, but I'd say that's an exception.

Depending on the price I'd be tempted to go for Xbox for Flight Simulator 2020, though it's more than likely I'll just upgrade my GPU instead.

The Brazilian Real is now worth 1 fifth of the US dollar. I won’t be buying any electronics for the foreseeable future. Better contain the excitement and make good use of my PS4.
