$60 for a game I paid $20 for on the Wii U years ago. This is some absurd pricing.
Hah. I got the game for free as a rather desperate attempt to sell me the console.
(It was a special Zelda edition console that also came with a digital copy of the Wind Waker remake and Hyrule Historia, and the retailer also included a free physical copy of Mario Kart 8. So yes, I do consider it a desperate attempt.)
I really did not enjoy playing Pikmin 3. I haven't played any of the other games, but I found the controls to be irritating, the time limit to be frustrating, and the Pikmin management to be time consuming, which made the time limit even more annoying.
I've been waiting for a Pikmin title on the Switch since 2017, it's easily become my most anticipated franchise so I'll happily take Pikmin 3 Deluxe, thank you! But I gotta say, Nintendo has a way of dangling that carrot in front of you.
This could be a Metroid-Prime-style trilogy release with Pikmin 1+2, that would fully cover the nostalgia. Also, supposedly Pikmin 4 has been "almost finished" 5 years ago, so what's that all about? A Pikmin 3 re-release (for a full $60 price tag, of course) is enough of a life sign to prove they haven't abandoned the franchise completely but it's just barely enough to do that.

This is right on Q2 closing too, so someone wanted to get this in before earnings.
Honestly Pikmin is something I DESPERATELY wanted back in the Gamecube days but I didn't have a Gamecube. I may end up picking this up just to see if it lived up to the hype in my head.
