All in all, I'd rather see GameMaker in the hands of Opera than Playtech. Playtech is gambling trash, they probably got bored with managing software made for actual games and wanted to get rid of that burden.
I don't know what they were doing with it, but one of the major sponsors if Godot is actually a gambling company. I can see them actually using GameMaker to speed up development of virtual slots,...
