I've heard some outrage, but it hasn't been taking over my feeds or anything.
I recently watched Hbomberguy's video on Woke Brands and it has me somewhat cynically wondering is this isn't something similar. I've seen this pattern a few times, where company announces some policy that seems specifically designed to piss off customers, then a few days later announces that they've changed their minds. It makes me wonder if some of these announcements aren't designed to make people mad and generate a lot of pushback and controversy, and then garner positive press and good vibes when they have a "change of heart" a few days later.
This wasn’t like the last straw or anything but I’m pretty sure Sony was starting to see the writing on the wall when it comes to doing stuff like this. As Microsoft buys more studios and acquires...
This wasn’t like the last straw or anything but I’m pretty sure Sony was starting to see the writing on the wall when it comes to doing stuff like this. As Microsoft buys more studios and acquires bigger IP, Gamepass and their back-catalogue-friendly attitude is starting to give them a real edge.
Sony isn’t so far ahead that they can just throw away goodwill. There’s no way keeping up these stores was hurting them that much.
I don’t know if I’d go so far as to call this a New Coke conspiracy.
I just hope we'll get PS3 (and prior) backward compatibility in some upcoming iteration of the Playstation. I was able to replace my PS4 with a PS5, but I still have to keep the old PS3 around for...
I just hope we'll get PS3 (and prior) backward compatibility in some upcoming iteration of the Playstation. I was able to replace my PS4 with a PS5, but I still have to keep the old PS3 around for a good chunk of my game catalog. Sony would do well to consolidate all of the PS titles on a single platform, then they can pull the plug on the legacy stores as far as I'm concerned.
