Elon Musk, once again, demonstrating how power has got to his head, making him an expert on every topic under the sun. I don't say this often, and it's hard for me to say, because I really do like both SpaceX and Tesla for their missions, but Elon is kind of a douchebag who shouldn't be allowed to have such an outwardly prominent voice on most topics.

Agreed. It consistently frustrates me that Musk is treated as an expert in so many "science" related topics despite the fact that he has little skills in the way of engineering skills and nothing...

Italy has 3000 traffic deaths yearly and is sitting at 1400 corona deaths. That's not going to shake out too well for him if things continue. Car maker is a tool, more at 11. Pun intended

I recently saw this graph from a new scientific paper where they did a projection based on data from Italy for other countries. It seems the death rate below 50 is extremely low?

And that's technically true: the outrage is mostly directed at Elon putting his businesses first (which he always does), and is willing to sacrifice the public healthcare system's capacity and the deaths of others who have less immunological function in close contact to his two corporate petri dishes (Tesla & SpaceX).

For office workers, I read somewhere that Tesla is encouraging people to work from home if they can, which seems similar to elsewhere.

The dumb part is the other stuff he said, like it not being within the top 100 health risks.

Yeah, but the people who work in the factories are the public in a way. They then go home to their family and friends, and spread it to them, who spread it to others, who spread it to more others....

Yeah, but the people who work in the factories are the public in a way. They then go home to their family and friends, and spread it to them, who spread it to others, who spread it to more others. Tesla & SpaceX are extremely manufacturing-oriented companies, there's no getting around that.
