    It's the exact same for any widespread measure, it will be the idiotic, uninformed, and willfully ignorant that say it was overreacting. A perfect example of worldwide cooperation to head off...

        Good point. I'll admit I didn't get that far as the points were made within the first few paragraphs and the author was, in my opinion, unnecessarily verbose for the subject matter.

      Yea, but even Y2K was peanuts compared to the potential 2038 problem. We've got 18 years to fix it all, and it's gonna hurt hard, especially for older embedded systems....
